In fact, the President and First Lady plan to settle in Dallas, a location convenient to many cultural events, sports activities, and even exotic car dream tours.  Dallas residents enjoy no shortage of things to do, and now the President and Mrs. Bush will add to the city’s fame.

On Monday, Bush explained to the WFAA Texas News 8 that moving to Dallas was a “leap of faith.”

It was Laura Bush who chose the spacious home on Daria Drive in Dallas.  The street is a cul-de-sac and offers a quiet neighborhood and much-needed privacy.  It is likely that a gate will be installed on Daria Drive to provide further security for the Bush family.

“My attitude was if you want a house in Dallas in the area where she wanted, go find one and let’s go move into it,” President Bush said about the decision to leave the house-hunting up to Mrs. Bush.

It seems probable that the Bush’s will require luxury or exotic transportation in Dallas.  While the Bushes likely have all of their transportation needs covered, they will be able to rent luxury vehicles for Dallas visitors and friends.

Mrs. Bush is excited about the floor plan and location of their new home.

“It’s on a pretty quiet street, and I think the set up of it – the actual floor plan of it – is nice for empty nesters,” she said.

And Dallas area businesses, which provide everything from tasty restaurant meals to climate-controlled exotic car storage, will likely benefit from the star power of the Bush family.

“You’ll start seeing us at restaurants a lot, just like people did before we moved to Austin,” Mrs. Bush explained.  “And I’m looking forward to that.” Who know maybe the Bush clan will show up at my favorite Fort Worth 5 star restaurant.

In addition to the proposed security gate, the Bushes will receive around-the-clock attention from the Dallas police department.  Already, the change in the neighborhood is palatable, as curious on-lookers drive through the quiet neighborhood.

Some Dallas residents are in favor of the proposed gate on Daria Drive, while others find in a nuisance.  Funding for the gate is expected to come from the federal government.
